Primary challenge owner: Groningen Seaports
Secondary challenge owner(s): None
Groningen Seaports is the operator of two ports: Delfzijl and Eemshaven. For its clients, it is important that the port infrastructure is and remains in good condition. For this reason, the jetties in the ports are regularly inspected below and above water. Specialized companies are asked to do this using personnel, ships and divers. And after each inspection, a report is published and repair and maintenance tasks are planned by the port manager.
The current process is labor-intensive, relatively expensive and not innovative. The use of artificial intelligence, data management and autonomous processes should enable more effective and intensive inspections. And the use of AI should also simplify decisions around scheduling repair and management.
Modernize the process of inspections, under and above water, in the ports of Groningen Seaports, with the aim of allowing the process to be used autonomously by the port operator, to simplify planning for repair and management of port infrastructure.
