Nuisance underground containers

Primary challenge owner: City of Emmen and City of Coevorden part of the Action program Impact Entrepreneurship within the Region Deal South- and East-Drenthe

Secondary challenge owner(s): None

Background

Underground containers are among some of the things used for waste collection. These are containers located below ground level, in which waste can be deposited using an ecocard. Only the insertion point is above ground and visible. Additional deposits at these underground containers cause a lot of nuisance. In this case, additional deposits is the waste that is illegally placed next to underground containers. This causes unhygienic conditions such as pollution and foul smells. Efforts are being made in various ways to counteract this nuisance, for example by deploying container gardens. This helps, but the desired effect has not yet been achieved.
