There are many bridges, viaducts and locks in the province of Overijssel. These are what we call infrastructural constructions. Such constructions are regularly checked by inspectors for safety.

The provincial authority regularly checks the quality of bathing water. Too regularly, such checks result in a warning that bathing water is ‘unsafe’, when later it becomes clear that the water was, in fact, safe.

Overijssel is a province with many natural environments and we want to keep it that way. By ensuring that the conditions are right, we protect species of flora and fauna, enabling us to maintain natural environments and develop them.

The provincial authority is tasked with monitoring the safety and quality of waterways and bathing waters within the province, underwater monitoring is essential.

The number of accidents involving bicycles and e-bikes is on the increase. From a distance, electrically powered bikes and speed pedelecs look like normal bicycles, but they go considerably faster. This leads to hazardous situations.
