The site of the former Twente Airbase has been repurposed and is now a natural area also used for recreational purposes. On part of this site, nuisance is currently being caused by youths loitering, people tearing around in cars, and vandalism in shelters and bunkers. People are also visiting some areas at times when this is prohibited. The provincial authority is looking for an affordable solution that will allow for the area to remain accessible but that will also combat the nuisance caused to the natural environment, other users of the site and those living in the surrounding area.
