In 2009 Dimitri Hettinga founded Super Motor Company, with the goal to revive and re-develop the iconic Super Cub moped/motorcycle. Over 2500 units were sold in Europe since then. He also developed a spraycabine for open drydock ship painting. The Spraycabine was developed to prevent paint overspray and prevent pollution and paint loss. Dimitri started the development of the Portago concept early 2020 because of his experiences with logistical hindrances as an inhabitant of Amsterdam.
