Challenge: Smart charging solutions for recreational (private) boats
Stroomboot’s goal is to create a green charging infrastructure for all recreational (private) boats in Amsterdam. We plan to accomplish this by using the existing power grid of houseboats and other buildings on or next to Amsterdam’s canals. Furthermore, we plan to develop our own floating Stroomboot docks that generate green energy and can directly charge boats on the water.
Our Stroomboot application will connect recreational boat owners to available (smart) charging points, and provide an easy “Plug & Play” service for charging. Secondly, the app will monitor power usage and assist the city of Amsterdam in reducing peak moments in the city’s power grid.
