Challenge: Smart options for using dredged sediments from Amsterdam
VSGM BV (“Van Slib Grondstof Maken”) is introducing a new processing technology for various type of sludge(s), named MID-MIX. Besides producing secondary raw materials as the ONLY process output, a lot of CO2 is being captured as well. It is an excellent alternative to the “traditional” incineration of sludge(s). The unique value of the process is that it is 100% “circular”. What was waste is being processed into a new and renewed raw materials that have a proven usage and “second life”. On top of all that, the investment (CAPEX) and the processing costs (OPEX) are typically significantly lower than the traditional processing methods such as incineration of sludge(s).
