The Province of North Holland is trying to get a grip on the traffic in the region, particularly at public transport hubs.
How can we efficiently quantify the volumes of pedestrian and bicycle traffic in cities, particularly bottlenecks?
Possible solution
In order to gain more insight, we could consider (combinations of) ‘smart’ traffic counters such as sensors, motion radars, cameras, GPS, etc. In Scheveningen, but also in other cities, sensors are hung in lampposts under the name of ‘Living Lab’.
