Startup in Residence is an innovative collaboration between the Ministry of Defence and startups. The programme invites Dutch and international startups to devise innovative solutions to solve issues. After a successful second “Startup in Residence”programme in Amsterdam they will start with a third edition in December 2017. The Ministry of Defence will start it’s first edition in January 2018.
Applications open in the first quarter of 2018.
The Startup in Residence Programme will run from Q1 2018 until Q4 2018, with a final event at the end of the program. After the first pilot programme in 2015, the City of Amsterdam has decided to run the programme again in 2016. Based on the successes from the first two programmes they will start with a third programme in December 2017. The Ministry of Defence (in this case the Royal Netherlands Airforce) wanted to join efforts and will launch it’s first edition. The Ministry of Defence has own issues and a separate tender procedure.
In the programme the startups are offered an intensive training programme, as well as the support of professional coaches or mentors. The startups will also be provided with working space and have access to our network.
If solutions prove successful, the Ministry of Defence will invest in them as an investor or launching customer and thereby significantly kick-start the startup’s career. The Ministry of Defence seeks to work with (starting) businesses in a transparent manner to translate good ideas into solutions to social issues.
