TransformCity
March 2018.
Transformcity is on a roll! This collaborative urban planning platform is 
currently implemented in two of Amsterdam’s largest transformation areas, Amstel III and Sloterdijk II. With the help of Transformcity, a wide range of stakeholders and local government can directly share and discuss data, plans, ideas and resources and collaborate on local projects. The first click-through models have been presented, and the first live-update of the new platform will be launched in April.
Transformcity is also sharing their knowledge and experience with an international audience; at the end of February, founder Saskia Beers travelled to Vienna to speak at the Urban Future Global Conference, where she was part of a panel titled ‘how to connect with your citizens’. The main takeaway point of this session was that increased participation is very sought-after, but takes time and space to establish. The implementation of Transformcity in Amstel III and Sloterdijk II will give us more insights into how this can be facilitated.
