What is Startup in Residence?

Startup in Residence is a new way of connecting the City of The Hague and startups, contributing to the startup ecosystem in The Hague. Besides the ambition to stimulate collaboration, the programme also aims to develop innovative solutions for the urban challenges the City faces. Startups, with their out of the box thinking, can develop innovative solutions. The City of The Hague can assist startups to finalize and perfect this solution. If the solutions are successful, the City of The Hague has the option to act as launching customer.

Why join the program?

The Startup in Residence programme offers you the opportunity to work together with governments and test your ideas in the city. During the 4 month programme, you receive trainings, and the opportunity to book a range of workshops with professional mentors. In this inspiring work environment you will have access to the municipality’s network, corporate partners and events.

Impact Economy Programme

Startup in Residence is a part of the municipality’s startup program Impact Economy. This programme fosters an innovative startup ecosystem in The Hague. Given that The Hague is the city of peace and justice, it has a huge international network of NGO’s, research institutions, international companies, knowledge institutions and creative entrepreneurs. This network offers great opportunities to work together on innovative solutions for complex urban and social issues. Economic success and social impact go hand in hand in The Hague. This is called ‘impact economy’.
