What is Startup in Residence?

Startup in Residence is a new way of connecting the City of The Hague and startups. Besides the ambition to connect and stimulate collaboration, the programme also aims to develop innovative solutions for the ‘wicked’ urban challenges the city faces. Startups with their out of the box thinking can develop innovative solutions for eight challenges and the City of The Hague can assist startups to finalize and perfect this solution. If the solutions are successful, the City of The Hague could act as launching customer.

Why join the program?

The selected startups are offered an intensive training programme, as well as the support of professional mentors. The startups will also be provided with working space and have access to the municipality’s network and events.

Impact Economy Programme

Startup in Residence is a part of the Impact Economy Programme of the municipality of The Hague. This programme aims to stimulate the startup environment of the city. Given that The Hague is the city of peace and justice, it has a huge international network of NGO’s, research institutions, international companies, knowledge institutions and creative entrepreneurs. This network offers great opportunities to work together on innovative solutions for complex social issues. Economic success and social impact go hand in hand in The Hague, this is called ‘impact economy’.
