The provincie Zuid-Holland and 9 innovative startups have partnered up in the first edition of Startup in Residence to tackle 5 regional challenges. We are currently preparing the second edition of the programme and will post the new challenges on January 15.
Where the Provincie and startups meet
Startup in Residence is an innovative collaboration between the Provincie Zuid-Holland and startups. The programme invites Dutch and international startups to solve regional challenges from the fields in which the province is active. Our second edition will run from April 2019 until October 2019.
The programme offers startups a training programme and guidance from professional coaches. The startups will also enjoy full access to the province’s network and be provided with working space in our office in the Hague. If the solutions prove successful, the province can act as a launching customer. Learn more about the challenges that we are tackling in the first edition!
A region of innovators
Zuid-Holland offers an appealing location for innovation and startups. It is a compact area containing no fewer than 60 municipalities, 3 universities, and a strong business community with a truly entrepreneurial spirit. The region boasts several strong clusters and groundbreaking expertise in the fields of food, health, maritime & logistics, water management, security, and smart industry.
In this hotbed for collaboration and innovation, the province is uniquely equipped – and very much willing – to lead the transition towards a new economy. We are committed to coming up with purposeful contributions to the problems that we face. We see our region as a real-life testing ground and by working with startups we hope to find effective solutions through collaboration.
